The Parkseobo Foundation will open PARKSEOBO MUSEUM SEOUL on 21 August 2026 in Yeonhui-dong, Seodaemun-gu, next to the foundation’s existing building. The five-storey building, with two basement levels and three above ground, was designed by architect Choi Moon-kyu, whose previous projects include Ssamzigil, Kansong Art Museum Daegu and the Hyundai Card Music Library. The foundation was established around roughly 3,000 works donated by Park Seo-Bo, the Dansaekhwa painter who died in 2023, and states that the museum will focus on preservation and research while also supporting emerging artists. Its inaugural exhibition, Park Seo-Bo & Huong Dodinh: Emptiness, Fullness, a two-person show with the French-Vietnamese artist Huong Dodinh, runs from 21 August to 31 December 2026.
박서보재단이 2026년 8월 21일 서대문구 연희동에 박서보미술관 서울을 개관합니다. 재단 기존 건물 옆에 자리합니다. 지하 2층·지상 3층 규모의 건물은 쌈지길, 간송미술관 대구, 현대카드 뮤직라이브러리를 설계한 최문규 건축가가 맡았습니다. 재단은 2023년 세상을 떠난 단색화 작가 박서보가 기증한 약 3,000점을 기반으로 설립됐으며, 미술관은 보존과 연구에 중점을 두는 한편 신진 작가 지원도 병행한다고 밝혔습니다. 개관전은 프랑스·베트남계 작가 후옹 도딩과의 2인전 《박서보 & 후옹 도딩: 비움, 채움》으로 8월 21일부터 12월 31일까지 열립니다.
