Marri Ngarr artist Dr Ryan Presley has won the $100,000 Telstra Art Award at the 2026 National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards for his oil on canvas painting Our lifestyle of tranquillity undisturbed, selected from 64 finalists. The judges were Julie Gough of the Trawlwoolway people, Yhonnie Scarce of the Kokatha and Nukunu peoples, and Warraba Weatherall of the Kamilaroi people. Six category awards of $15,000 each went to Vanessa Inkamala for General Painting, Barayuwa Munuŋgurr for Bark Painting, Jenna Mayilema Lee for Work on Paper, Napuwarri Marawili for the Wandjuk Marika Memorial 3D Award, Guruwuy Murrinyina for Emerging Artist and Colin Heenan-Puruntatameri for Multimedia. The exhibition is on at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory in Garramilla/Darwin until 24 January 2027. This edition marks 35 years of Telstra’s sponsorship and 40 years of the Wandjuk Marika 3D award.
마리 응아르 출신 작가 라이언 프레슬리가 2026 텔스트라 원주민·토레스해협 도서민 미술상(NATSIAA)에서 10만 호주달러의 대상을 받았습니다. 수상작은 캔버스에 유채 작품 《Our lifestyle of tranquillity undisturbed》로, 최종 후보 64명 가운데 선정됐습니다. 심사는 트라울울웨이의 줄리 고프, 코카타·누쿠누의 요니 스카스, 카밀라로이의 와라바 웨더럴이 맡았습니다. 각 1만 5천 호주달러의 부문상 6개는 일반 회화 바네사 인카말라, 나무껍질 회화 바라유와 무누구르, 종이 작업 제나 마일레마 리, 완주크 마리카 기념 입체 부문 나푸와리 마라윌리, 신진 작가 구루우이 무리니나, 멀티미디어 콜린 히넌푸룬타타메리에게 돌아갔습니다. 전시는 다윈 노던테리토리 박물관·미술관(MAGNT)에서 2027년 1월 24일까지 이어집니다. 올해는 텔스트라 후원 35주년이자 완주크 마리카 입체 부문 40주년입니다.
